Went to the 5th anniversary show. At the bank, or Galactic Systems Headquarters, whichever you'd like. It was cold but amazing and Angela sold a painting for a tidy sum (note: You can sell work, too. It's entirely possible but up to you). Mucho beer. I haven't been that involved, nor do I consider myself very old, so I'm kinda surprised it's gone this far. Big ups Billy, Angela, Dave Grice, Taylor, Nate Long, Mike Moore and a whole bunch of WNY people I never met before I left. I remember when this was all some sort of loose idea, like many, hatched in Angela's car on the way to God knows where. By this time I've learned to stop admonishing imaginary people and, using the examples of the Beats, Fluxus, Punks, Dada and the Infrarealists, think of the revolutionary cadre of artists who will take over WNY.

AAAlliance 5 Year Anniversary Show

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone for helping make our AAAlliance 5 Year Anniversary Show such a huge success. It really is amazing to see what we can do when we pool our assets as a community and really work (and party) together. We're already making plans for the next one.

Soooo, with that in mind, why don't you help us insure that our next event will be an even bigger success, by taking a few minutes to let some of your online friends know about the Active Artists Alliance?

You can invite them to join our Facebook group, OR you can also invite any other artists, musicians, writers, photographers, designers, crafters or art students you know to check out WWW.ACTIVEARTIST.ORG and sign up there to become a part of our network.

Once someone signs up to become a member, they can show work in our online gallery, give and receive feedback with other members in the gallery and forum, and become more closely involved with planning and participating in any of our upcoming events. As always, AAAlliance membership is FREE!

Thanks again for everything that you do, and stay tuned...

P.S. here's a Chautauqua Star article that our friend Jason Sample wrote about the 5 year anniversary of the Active Artists Alliance.
