Mardi Gras Bash with Buckwheat Zydeco :: Jamestown, NY
Saturday Februrary 23, Louisiana Legends Buckwheat Zydeco will bring their "Jackpot!" tour to the Reg Lenna Civic Center in downtown Jamestown, NY. This is an incredible chance for those of us in Western NY and the surrounding area to celebrate Mardi Gras and shake off the winter blues. The show begins at 8 pm, and tickets are $20.50 from the Reg Lenna Box Office.

Buckwheat Zydeco has been touring nationally for over 20 years. Lead singer Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural was recently featured on the soundtrack for the film I'm Not There, and the entire band can be heard on the soundtracks to The Waterboy and Fletch Lives. They also opened an entire tour for Eric Clapton, played both of President Clinton's Inaugurations, and played for over 3 BILLION people when they performed during the closing ceremonies of the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996.

Canoe at Your Own Risk!
This year, June 28 and 29 will be the 8th annual "Canoe at Your Own Risk" overnight canoe trip in the Allegany National Forest, from Warren , PA to Tidioutte, PA (or there abouts) on the Allegany River.

We had over 40 people on last years' trip, All are welcome, the only requirements are that you pick up after yourself, don't break glass, and don't be stupid. Also, be friendly to the locals. The cost to rent a canoe, and get picked up at the end is about $40/person. Mark your calendars, and get the days off work.

A New Beginning :: 2008
Posted December 30, 2007
The slumbering spirit of collective creativity and creative collectivity which is the Active Artists Alliance is stirring once again. The process of re-awakening has begun.

The first task which we must accomplish will be to design the new 2008 AAAlliance business cards. The current cards designed by Brooklyn Artist David Drayer are quickly becoming collectors items.

After the new designs have been submitted, we will have a voting period, and the winning design will be used to promote the AAAlliance's work throughout the upcoming year.

Any Graphic Designer who is interested in getting involved is invited to contact : bill@activeartist.org
