FREE community arts event and concert series, presented by the Active Artists Alliance and Jamestown Renaissance Corp, and taking place on the Third Thursday of each month in Winter Garden Plaza, right downtown next to the Wine Cellar.

A few local AAAlliance members will be bringing their easels and paints out to the plaza and working on their paintings and other creations. Any interested local artists or crafty folks should feel free to bring their materials down to the plaza, to work and network with the other artists, or just to show off what you have been doing lately.

(for the sake of public relations and our own health, we have to say NO SPRAYPAINTING at these Third Thursday events!)

Pulse Community Drumming will be organizing a drum circle from 6-7pm, followed by live music by SMACKDAB and WANYAMA (from Cleveland) from about 7:30-9pm.

During the event, thirsty patrons can enjoy a beer on the Wine Cellar's new patio, which will have a perfect view of the bands and artists. Afterwards, you can visit Labyrinth Press Company, Forte, Cibo, Taco Hut, The Pub, or The Cherry Lounge for nighttime food and entertainment.

please come out and support local businesses, artists, and local ORIGINAL musicians in our community!!!

"Art Exchange" Show :: Sat Jan 19th :: JTNY
Posted January 16, 2013

Art Exchange is the newest group showcase for Active Artists Alliance members. The first installment opens this Saturday, January 19th, from 6-8 pm at The Arts Council for Chautauqua County's 3rd on 3rd Gallery, at 116 East Third Street, Third Floor, in Jamestown, NY. There is a $5 cover for the opening, which includes food and refreshments. Attendees under 18 are free, and the show will consist of newer works from:

Angela Caley
Bill Thomas
David Grice
Joseph Grice
Kaylea Stoeltzing
Taylor Collins
John Dunkleman
and Robbie Mills

The concept behind "Art Exchange", is that when the show at 3rd on 3rd is finished, we will be organizing a show in Pittsburgh this Spring for the same group of artists, at the South Side Welcome Center at 1100 East Carson Street. We will also be setting up a Buffalo show for the same group of artists, sometime in the near future, but we have not confirmed our venue yet.

We originally imagined that our group of artists would include 3-5 people from each city, but the show was pulled together on fairly short notice this time around, and so, includes only one artist from Pittsburgh (Taylor Collins) and one artist from Buffalo (John Dunkleman).

This is only the first installment of this concept, which we plan on growing and continuing indefinitely, with artists from other cities in our region. If you like this idea, come out to 3rd on 3rd this saturday and show your support!
