Vendela Grundell's new book Periscope

Long-time AAAlliance member Vendela Grundell, of Stockholm, Sweden, recently released her first photography book, entitled Periscope.

Vendela describes it as "a book of twenty photographic collages. A slow piecing together of images taken most impulsively, with a cell phone through a broken window on an express train to Arlanda Airport outside Stockholm. Moving through a shattered landscape illuminated by cracks in the glass, instigated thoughts of how the eye is connected to what it sees. The everyday flow of field and tree, sky and sun, transposed to an innerscape. The idea of a periscope is to organize your vision so that you may know what you see and where you are going. At the same time, that decision is yours to make. This periscope is a tool for disorientation, for looking into your own vision and end up in a very different place."

Skatepark Fundraiser :: April 12-15 :: JTNY

Several AAAlliance member artists will be hanging work at The Gateway Center on Water St. in Jamestown, as part of their spring jam skatepark fundraiser next week. There's also still plenty of room for more visual artists to participate with us. If you're interested in being a part of this show, please contact us asap.

It's a 3 day event, with each day being sponsored by a different local skate or bike shop. Each day will feature live local music, giveaways, and some incredible riding and skating by local teams and some sponsored pros. ALL the proceeds for all 3 days will go towards park maintenance, repairs, and expansion. SUPPORT THIS!
